Happy Tuesday!
Yesterday we talked about the 47 AI tools problem.
Today, I want to tell you what I actually look for when I hire VAs.
💼 I'm the founder of UpSkill AI. I hire VAs. And here's the truth:
I don't hire for what you know.
I hire for what you're learning.
Let me explain.
📚The AI industry changes so fast that knowing one tool today doesn't matter in 6 months.
But showing me you're a learner? That matters forever.
Here's what that looks like in real life:
Two VAs apply. Same experience. Same rate.
One profile says: "Virtual Assistant | Email Management | Calendar | Social Media"
The other says: "Virtual Assistant | Constantly learning and using AI"
Ang laking difference.
✨The second VA isn't claiming to know everything.
She's showing me she's moving forward.
That's what I'm looking for.
🎯Because here's the thing:
You'll never learn everything. The tools change too fast.
But you can always be learning.
And if AI skills aren't at the front of your profile? Clients will look for someone else.
Not because you're not good enough.
Because they can't see that you're ready for what's coming.
Try This:
Go to your Upwork profile (or wherever you find clients).
Look at your title and description.
Ask yourself: "Can clients see that I'm learning AI?"
If the answer is no, change one line. Just one.
Add: "Constantly learning and using AI" somewhere visible.
That's it. You don't have to be an expert. You just have to show you're moving.
Want to back up that profile line with real skills?
I made a free 10-day AI course that teaches you the 3 tools clients actually care about. Finish it, and "constantly learning AI" isn't just a claim — it's true.

P.S. Tomorrow: The 5 specific AI skills clients are asking for right now. (And how to pick which one to start with.)
