Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday, I asked you to think of one client who stayed and one who went quiet.

Most VAs, when they do this exercise, notice something they didn't expect:

The difference wasn't the big stuff.

It was the small stuff.

🔍 Study the VAs whose clients refer them, renew them, recommend them.

They don't share one personality type. Some are bubbly. Some are reserved. Some are funny. Some are formal.

But they DO share a pattern. Small communication moves they run on purpose — even when no one's watching.

Examples of what trust actually looks like in real messages:

  • 💬 "Got it, looking into this now" — sent within minutes. Buys you hours.

  • 🤔 "I think the answer is X — let me verify before I act." Beats fake confidence every time.

  • 📩 "Here's where we are on [project]. Next step is [Y]." Sent unprompted. Not a check-in. An update.

  • 🎯 "I noticed you mentioned [detail] — did you mean [A] or [B]?" Shows you actually read.

  • 📋 "Sent the email. Two recipients bounced — flagging for your team." Did + saw.

⏱️ Notice what these have in common:

They're small. 30 seconds each.

None of them need AI.

But AI helps every single one — drafting the acknowledgment faster, structuring the update, polishing the clarifying question.

That's the layer we'll build tomorrow.

💭 The thing most VAs miss:

Trust isn't built in big moments.

It's not the perfect deliverable. It's not the rate negotiation. It's not the "I went above and beyond" moment.

It's the 30-second move you almost skipped because it felt too small to matter.

Yan ang totoo. The skilled VA who skips these moves loses to the average VA who runs them.

Not fair. Just true.

🤝 This builds on what you already learned:

The Monthly Value Report from retention week? That's one of these moves done at scale.

The Decoder habit from last week? That lets you respond with care instead of guessing.

We're not starting over. We're going deeper.

Try this: Open your last 5 messages to your best client (or your most recent ongoing conversation, if you don't have a "best client" yet). Count how many of those 5 moves above you used.

Don't judge. Just count.

If the answer is 1 or 2 — that's normal. Most VAs are there. If the answer is 3+ — you're already doing this on instinct. Tomorrow we'll make it deliberate.

Tomorrow, I hand you all 5 moves with AI prompts for each — the practice playbook.

Speaking of AI helping every single one of these moves —

The AI Reply Kit (free) is a copy-paste library of prompts and replies for real client situations. Acknowledgments, clarifying questions, status updates. The kind of stuff you wish someone handed you on day one.

Ready when tomorrow's moves are.

P.S. — If you're a VA who wants to stop worrying about AI and start earning more because of it, 200+ Filipinas inside UpSkill AI are doing exactly that. See the plans here →
