Happy Thursday!

Quick question.

When you use Grammarly to fix your grammar — do you feel guilty?

When you Google something you don't know — do you feel like you're cheating?

When you use a calculator instead of doing math by hand — do you think, "Ay, dapat ako na lang pala nag-compute”?

No, 'di ba?

So why does AI feel different?

🤔 Here's what I think is happening:

AI feels like it's doing the "thinking" for you. And as VAs, we're paid to think. To solve problems. To be reliable.

So when AI drafts an email in 10 seconds... parang ang bilis.
Parang hindi natin pinaghirapan.

But let me ask you this

  • Did you decide what needed to be communicated? Yes.

  • Did you give AI the right context? Yes.

  • Did you review and edit the output? Yes.

  • Did you hit send? Yes.

That's not cheating. That's using a tool.

Grammarly fixes your grammar. Google gives you information. AI helps you draft faster.

Same category. Same energy.

💭 "But what if my client says no AI?"

This is a fair concern. Some clients do have this policy.

Here's how I'd handle it:

  • Option A: Ask what specifically concerns them. Usually it's quality or accuracy — which you can address. "I always review and edit everything before sending. Would that work?"

  • Option B: Respect the boundary. Adjust your workflow. Not every client will be a fit.

  • Option C: Decide if this client aligns with where you're headed. If AI is part of your future, you'll naturally attract clients who value efficiency over process.

But here's the reality: Most clients haven't even thought about it. They just want the work done well.

🚫 The real question isn't "Is it cheating?"

The real question is: "Am I delivering good work?"

If yes — how you got there is your business.
